Went out Redland Bay, midnight on friday . Had a bit of hunt around, testing out the new colour fishfinder to no prevale couldnt find any signs of schools in the sounder. Ended up finding a couple of prawns, but no big quanities. Decided to go fishing for awhile until high tide came. Ended up having a bit of fun with some bull sharks . Remi kg, ended up catching 2 bull sharks and a shovel nose shark. Castnet bob caught a couple of squire, and I caught 1 bullshark and had a bit of a big run with another suspected bull shark. Didnt end up landing him on the lightgear that i was using. Sun came up and noticed there was a mad rush of tinnys and boats heading off towards Russell island, so we thought it would be a good decision to follow. Ended up taking us to Karragarra island next to Lamb island. When we got there , would of had been 20boats all castnetting . So we got into netting real fast. Started catching good quanities of prawns.and after 2hrs there was about 50 boats. Remi kg , would of nearly got near 2kg in one cast. So we kept at it for 3hrs. We were unsure wether we were going over 10litres per person, as the fisheries and police boats were out in force. Started to head off home. Sum of some of our catch. Ended up getting 17kg .The colour sounder proved to be very reliable, with high resolution so you can see the schools and prawns very well. Was a good investment and hope that we can find some nice big snappers when we go off shore. Was a good trip. Hope to have more like these.

The weekend was great on saturday was the best prawning trip we have ever had (castnet bob, remi kg,balgar and i) we went out from redland bay as the weather was real good there was no wind at all. went of to karragarra island seen some boat casting there but not many had couple of casts there but not much there so went off the russell island found lots of boats there started casting and there was couple prawns around but had to hunt for them the tide was running out and was getting to low tide then it happened some big schools started to show up on the sounder so so we all started casting real fast in 3 casts from me, castnet bob and remi kg would of got 1k each and balgar had a big cast and seen he's net full as so we keep at it tell we new that we had hit or 10l bucket each and said its time to go home and we come back on sunday to try again got home and wayed up or catch and come to a grand total of 30kg we were real happy that we bet or best catch of 17kg  . we lined up some more guys to come with us on sunday so we can get more to try beat the 30kg but we got there and there was lots of boats there like on saturday but no-one was casting when we got there all just looking around for them so we went hunting around and only found little one yer the bank after some time went by seen the boats were casting so we went over started to get some of the big ones but it dont last long so me and castnet bob went in the logan to have alook to see if there schooling up in there but there not around there only lot of little ones was not having much luck so we went home only ended up getting 4kg all day was heart breaking after getting so much on saturday think it be hard to beat the 30kg this late in the season so hoping to beat that catch next season.
